What is this?

Nuclear bombs are weapons of immense destructive power, capable of releasing vast amounts of energy by splitting atoms and utilizing the energy generated by fission reactions. Traditional nuclear bombs contain complicated and delicate assemblies of enriched uranium or plutonium that, when brought together, create an explosive reaction. The energy released can result in almost immediate annihilation of large areas and long lasting radioactive contamination. It is a power that has the potential to irrevocably alter the world in which we live.
